Mass Effect Gay Romance Raises Canon Concerns
Bioware have announced that they are giving Commander Shepherd the option to pursue a gay romance even when playing as a man in Mass Effect 3. This of course was the cause of heated debate on the Bioware forums. So far, so unexpected. Because while the knee jerk reaction, and to be fair one justified by the discussion around Dragon Age 2 not the same subject, would be to brand the objectors homophobes and move on, there are actually "gasp" some congent points made on both sides.

Sony Welcome Back Campaign Means Free PSP & PS3 Games
There may not be a cure for a broken heart, but a leaked credit card number is a horse of an altogether different colour. Sony for their part seem to think two games per compromised account ought to do the job nicely and while you would not expect people having their personal info stolen and their multiplayer service shut down for almost a month to forgive and forget just like that, go read the comments on the PlayStation Blog announcing the deal for a primer on the human capacity to forgive.

Sony Still Working On Restoring The PlayStation Network
Sony has releases more details about the PlayStation Network on their blog, and the company has announced that they are still working to restore services to the PSN. According to the latest announcement, Sony are working to confirm the security of the network infrastructure, and also still working with a number of outside companies to confirm the security of the system.

LA Noire Occupying Three Xbox360 Discs
Despite Microsoft testing out a new disc format, its currently stuck with the old 9 GB a pop DVDs and that can only mean one thing for ambitious titles that tend to bring entire cities and possibly hundreds of thousands of virtual people to life. PlayStation 3 exclusivity, zing! Or they can just go the multi-disc round, like LA Noire is. "Please insert the next game disc to continue".

Nintendo Offers Cheaper Game Set With Cutting Wii Price
Nintendo is dropping the price of its Wii game system by $50 to $150 and introducing a new line of cheaper Wii games. Starting 15 May, the newly priced Wii system will come in either black or white with a "Mario Kart Wii" game and a Wii Wheel accessory, replacing the previously included "Wii Sports" and "Wii Sports Resorts" games.

Angry Birds Rio Update Scheduled For Next Week, Will Pack More Surprises Than Ever
Angry Birds developer Rovio has announced that their highly popular Angry Birds Rio game will get an update in the coming week. The status update on Rovio's Facebook page promises many new "juicy secrets" to uncover coupled with new features including "marmoset mauling action". So will the monkey-bashing continue or we will see another animal for our little angry birds to attack?

Sony Executives Hang Heads In Shame Over PlayStation Network Breach
Almost two weeks after the initial intrusion at their San Diego data center, Sony's President CEO and Senior VPs issued an official apology from a press conference at their Tokyo headquarters. Bowing deeply in shame, they promised new software updates and offered "Welcome Back" programs for user compensation.
