Les Paul Google Doodle Gets Permanent Home

Google is paying homage to guitar legend Les Paul, and that is good news for anyone who wants a spot on the Internet to play Elvis "Suspicious Minds" any old time. The ubiquitous search engine launched a dedicated page for its interactive Les Paul doodle on Thursday, which would have been Paul's 96 birthday had he lived as long. He died in 2009 at the age of 94.

Next Google Nexus Will Be Either HTC, Or LG Built

The Nexus line is the true and original Google phone and we have seen two already and now we came across a photo of a third Nexus phone in its testing stage. The phone looks HTC-made and lacks the menu/home/back/search keys. It will probably run Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest Android version.

The Android Market has gone through a major update after Google I/O conference. Google has done some refreshing design change to the interface of the Market for both mobile and desktop and made discovering of new apps easier. On top of that paid apps are now available to 99 new countries, which is a win-win for everyone.

Google is taking local news to the next level with a new addition to their mobile news service. The "News Near You" service, once activated, uses your location (with your express permission) to update you on the exact goings-on in your local area. The local news stream will appear in its very own section, but that can apparently be customized however way it suits you.

Google +1 Button Launches Soon

At the Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco the Google +1button development team demonstrated how its new social button can be added to web sites and has suggested that the new Google +1 button could be arriving very shortly, even within the next couple of weeks.

Google Pulled Samsung Galaxy S Gingerbread Update

European Samsung Galaxy S users were recently issued an update over the weekend that updated their OS to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Google stopped sending out the update, claiming that there was not a specific issue with the build, but something had gone wrong and was indetified after the release.
