Last week both Google and Facebook were in discussions with Skpye, but now it looks like Microsoft is attempting to purchase Skype, and the deal is reported to be worth around $7 to $8 billion.
According to the WSJ, the deal could be announced as early as this week, although things are not finalized yet, it is expected to go through shortly, the Skype deal would the biggest purchase for Mircosoft to date.
