Bell Drops Samsung Galaxy Tab Prices To $399.95 off contract, $199.95 With Three-Year

Prices for the original, 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab just keep on dropping and dropping, at least in North America. It certainly looks like the carriers are doing all they can to clear out the remaining stock of the device. Of course, even if they are doing just that, they would not admit it, so what's actually going on remains to be seen.

Yesterday we learned that Sprint in the US will be dropping the price for the first ever Android-powered table1 starting on Sunday. Well, in Canada, Bell has already done so once before, and it's outdone itself now. The price Bell will sell you a Galaxy Tab for is now $399.95 without any contract requirement. It's interesting to know that when it launched on Bell in November 2010, the Galaxy Tab's no-contract price was no less than $649.95. What a difference a few months make in the fast moving Android world!
If you would, for some reason, rather get into a three-year commitment with Bell, you can get the Tab for just $199.95. These are good prices, however it's up to you if the single-core, Android 2.2-running tablet is worth even such amounts anymore, with better-powered devices running the tablet-optimized Android 3.0 Honeycomb already starting to ship in some markets.
