Apple admitted on Friday it is looking into a Verizon 3G connectivity issue that some iPad 2 owners are reporting. Apple says in a statement to All Things Digital, "We are aware that a small number of iPad 2 customers have experienced connectivity issues with the Verizon 3G network and we are investingating it".
The problem has popped up in the Apple support forums and apparently causes iPad 2 owners to restart their tablets to reconnect to 3G after turning it off.
Poster nixxon2000 started the conversation in Apple's forums on 15 March -- just four days after the device's release date -- saying, "When I try to connect to the cellular data it just says iPad or Searching in the top of the screen... If I do a hard reset I can get it to work".
As of Saturday, there were eight pages of discussion about the problem, which does not appear to effect AT&T models of the device.
If the issue is software-related, it could be short lived. AppleInsider points out a fix could be included in the soon-to-be released iOS 4.3.2. Boy Genius Report seems to think that update will arrive sometime in the next two weeks.
