Bloatware. Something that almost every Windows PC buyer has to live with (at least until he or she re-installs the operating system) and also something that unfortunately has made it from the PC world to the Android world. With carriers being able to 'customize' devices in any way they please, bloatware has become pretty much a (not so nice) given on any recent Android Phone purchased from a carrier in the US.
No idea what bloatware is? Pick up your carrier-subsidized-and-branded Android smartphone and go through the App drawer. All those things that are there without being part of the core OS, without you installing them or needing them - all those apps are bloatware.
And up until now you just could not uninstall bloatware in order to free up some valuable app space and just get rid of unused items in the drawer. Well, you could, but your phone had to be rooted, and that certainly is not a procedure for everyone.
However, things are different with Sprint's upcoming HTC Evo 3D. This smartphone due for general release in mere hours (on 24 June) has already been available for Sprint Premier customers and apparently some of those tried to simply uninstall the bloatware the Evo 3D came with and... surprise!
The HTC Evo 3D allows uninstallation f preinstalled apps without needing root access. Lets hope more phones on more carriers will exhibit this behavior, and soon.
To uninstall any app which came with your Evo 3D, just go to Setting > Applications > Manage Applications and pick the offending app from the resulting list. Tap on the app's name, and then hit Uninstall (like you see in the picture above). That's it. Rinse and repeat if needed.
