Sony Ericsson XPERIA Acro May Have Xenon Flash

About ten days ago, word first got out about the Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro's existence. It was clearly Japan-bound, and at the time looked like it could be a Japanese version of the Xperia Arc sunce it closely resembled the Arc in the renders that leaked back then.

While the Acro may still be just a minor rehash of the Arc (even the name seems to just be a jumbled version of the Arc with an added vowel to make it even remotely utterable), today's leaks show that it may pack something rather exciting - a Xenon flash.
First off, here is a photo taken by the Acro, found on Flickr. The picture of another Sony Ericsson device is taken by the SO-02C, according to the EXIF data, and, you guessed it, that's the Acro's model number. If yoy squint a bit, you may even see part of the Acro's flash in this image -- and it's clearly got a different design compared to the Arc's single LED affair.

Then, an image of the Acro's back cover broke loose, clearly showing the different design for the hole in which the flash should fit - for starters, there is a lot more room. That makes it clear that the Acro will not have a single LED flash. The shape of the hole does seem to suggest the unthinkable -- that Sony Ericsson has put a Xenon flash on an Android smartphone! It would not be the first Android device to boast a Xenon flash (remember the Motorola Milestone XT720?), but these are such rare occurrences that they certainly deserve some celebration.
Worst case scenario, it's going to be a dual LED flash and even then, you will clearly be able to take night pics that are going to be a lot better than what the Arc can produce.

Finally, we have a listing of the Acro on NTT DoCoMo, Japan's largest carrier. Here it is in all its glory:
Now the Acro will probably be exclusive to Japan, however if it does in fact sport a Xenon flash, I am sure that many people would die to see it hit international waters. Perhaps Sony Ericsson will choose to indulge them after all, we will see.
