Firefox 5 Available For Download But Official Release On 21 June

Last month we talked about the Firefox 5 beta and the new faster update cycle that Mozilla has adopted to keep up with the new kid on the block, Google Chrome. Now the final version of Firefox 5 is available for download for Windows, Mac and Linux users.

Mozilla has announced the release of its latest beta client for its Firefox 5 browser which is currently under development for both desktops and mobile devices, as part of Mozilla's new accelarated release schedule.

Mozilla Says Polite No To US Government

Mozilla, the non-profit developer of the Firefox Web browser, is holding off on complying with a government request to remove a software tool meant to circumvent federal efforts at curbing Internet piracy.
Immigration and Custom Enforcement, part of the Department of Homeland Security, has been seizing the Internet addresses of sites accused of piracy, so that visitors can not reach them by typing in those domain names. The sites, however, still exist under other addresses.
