Innovative Lytro Focus-Free Digital Camera, Under Development

An new an innovative way to take photographs is currently under development that could revolutionize the way you use your camera. The new Lytro focus-free digital camera uses light field technology which is currently under development.


Its being to created to remove the need to focus your shot before you press the shutter release button on your camera. Enabling you to take photographs instantly without having to worry about the camera going through its focusing procedure first and wasting precious seconds.
The new Lytro light field camera is not due out until later this year but a demonstration of the new technology has been unveiled to show the concept.
Using the image below you can focus on different areas and the image and the picture updates it focus to accommodate the view required. The Lytro Focus-Free system has been created by Dr.Ren Ng, a Stanford Ph.D after receiving a $50 million investment to develop his concept after writing a dissertation on light-field technology five years ago, that won him countless awards worldwide.
