T-Mobile G2X To Get Android Gingerbread By Summer, May Also Get A Price Bump

About a month ago, T-Mobile USA said that the G2X (LG Optimus 2X) would be upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread "soon". Now the carrier says (via its Twitter account) that the upgrade should arrive "by summer".

Theoretically, summer in the US starts in June - thus next week. Does this mean the G2X will be upgraded by then? We doubt it, but let's wait and see.
Launched by T-Mobile in April, the G2X is currently out of stock. It seems the demand is higher than the carrier had hoped it to be. It also seems that, for this reason, T-Mo wants to adjust the smartphone's price. According to the image above, started yesterday, 27 May, the G2X should cost $299 on contract, not $199 (as its initial price was).
The price adjustment is not visible at T-Mobile's official web site yet, so the carrier may have changed its mind about this.
