Korea-based electronic giant Samsung's local subsidiary in Canada received an email threatening to blow up the company's head office and nine foreign embassies in Seoul.
According to the meida reports, quoting Korea's National Police Agency, the email warned of bomb attacks this week on Samsung Electronics headquarters as well as the embassies of Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Iran, Egypt, Syria and Jordan.
The email was reportedly sent under an Arabic name to the Canadian unit of the electronics giant early Monday morning, following news of Osama Bin Laden's death.
According to Korea Times, the email was sent at 4:28 am local time, hours after Osama Bin Laden's death was made public, by an Arab name ID "dilara zahedani".
According to the latest reports, following the email, police dispatched a 60 member squad and six explosive detection dogs to the headquarters in Seocho-dong, southern Seoul and searched inside the building as wll as surrounding areas such as underground parking lots and lobbies, as well as nearby malls.
Samsung, on its part is said to have strengthened security at the headquaters.
