BeBook To Drop 7 inch Live Android Froyo Tablet In June

BeBook, an e-reader manufacturer, has announced the release of their BeBook Live, an Android tablet running version 2.2 (Froyo).

A 1 GHz Samsung Cortex A8 CPU and 512 MB of SDRAM powers the devicem and its 4 GB of internal flash storage can be complemented by SDHC cards up to 32 GB in size. Adobe Flash vidoes can be watched on its 7 inch LCD screen or outputted to a TV via the mini HDMI port, and a front-facing 2MP camera facilitates video chat.
While Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) is not yet available to developers (and only available on Motorola's Xoom tablet), its puzzling that the tablet did not launch with at least version 2.3 (Gingerbread). One possible explanation is given BeBook's product history, the BeBook Live is being marketed as an advanced color e-reader rather than a full fledged tablet.
The BeBook Live is scheduled for a June 2011 release, and is expected to retail at $279.
