In what is definitely the oddest news story of the year thus far, ITN Productions has announced that its official The Royal Wedding Android app will launch exclusively via the GetJar app store -- and will remain a GetJar exclusive for the next week.
Then it arrives on the Android Market. The app, designed for "Royal family enthusiasts" will eventually offer "hours" of video content.
It's ad-supported, with both on-screen ad boxes and pre-roll ads before the videos. Someone's cashing, in, big time.
If the above does not horrify you and have you thinking about moving to a gite in France for the rest of April, go get the Android APK direct from Getjar. The link says it's for iPad, but entering your phone type on the download window brings up the Android version.
