The long-awaited HTC Pyramid is now official at last, although it's called HTC Sensation and was not unveiled by HTC, but by Vodafone UK. As expected, the Sensation, is a high-end Android smartphone - most likely, it's HTC's flagship model for this year.
The handset runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features a 4.3 inch SLCD screen with 960 x 540 pixels (see, Nokia, this is a proper resolution for a 2011 smartphone, not 640 x 360), a dual-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 8MP camera with flash, HD video recording, 1.2MP front-facing camera, 4GB of on-board memory, and an 8GB card pre-installed.
Vodafone has yet to announce when the HTC Sensation will be released and for what price.
It remains to be seen if the Sensation will be called Pyramid in other markets (outside the UK) or not, HTC should unveil more details later today, so stay tuned.
Update: Vodafone removed the smartphone from its website, it will probably be back soon, though).
