Windows Phone 7 Update Adds Copy and Paste Functionality

Well, its finally here - The Copy and Paste functionality has been brought to Windows Phone 7 by the first major update for the platform and the story does not end here. Microsoft is pushing out a software update for Windows Phone 7 devices dubbed NoDo, which brings copy and paste functionality among the minor improvements. Microsoft's revamped mobile OS has been missing copy and paste capabilities since its October launch.

The update brings faster app and game performance, stremlined Marketplace search, improved Wi-Fi connectivity. Outlook and MMS as well as some tweaks for the Facebook account sync experience. Among other improvements in the NoDo update, Microsoft notes faster start and resume times for apps and better category search in the Marketplace (the Windows Phone 7 app store), allowing users to search for specific apps from the phone.
Microsoft added a few performance tune ups as well for Wi-Fi functionality and the Outlook email client (unfortunately, there is no unifiled inbox).Copy and paste should be very simple. Just touch a word and tap the copy icon, then tap a place you want to paste the word and hit the paste icon. It works the same way with highlighting more that one word. You just tap and then slide your finger.
The software patch is being sent out on a rolling schedule; a message will appear on your phone when its available. You could be waiting from a few days to a few weeks for the update, as unlocked phones will be the first to receive the update, followed by carrier-branded models. New handsets like the HTC HD7S will come with NoDo preinstalled.
Microsoft says that the response time of games and apps has been reduced too. Once you update, you will also be able to filter the Marketplace and see only apps or only games.
Mango should brings a host of new features, including multitasking, Internet Explorer 9, SkyDrive integration and Twitter people hub support.
